UK based design is world renowned. FSP21 will build on this.

The base design will be be fully modelled using CAD (Computer Aided Design) as well as wind tunnel and tank test proving

 

The computer definition of this ship will carry through to production and build - a 'paperless' process and will use a fully Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) system of procurement

The underlying design philosophy and intent will be to produce a modern, safe and enduring vessel that will be a stable working platform as well as a striking, impressive and peaceful maritime ambassador

MATERIALS

  

Modern materials and surface coatings will be used, UK developed modern composites will be used for decks, rigging, fire protection, corrosion control

Equipment will be chosen for quality, ease of maintenance, modular replacement and strong maintenance support

SYSTEMS

  

Systems throughout will demonstrate modern maritime technology.

The bridge will have a fully integrated navigation suite.

Ship handling will utilise the latest techniques in stabilising and position control

Sail handling will be aided by computer monitoring of wind, weather, ship reaction and mast and spar action

Ship safety - including fire detection and security - will be constantly monitored

All areas will have sophisticated lighting, sound, audio-visual, IT and climate control

 
 
 

 

 

INTERIOR

BRITISH?

 

This ship has a purpose and mission that extends well beyond the British Isles.

But as a vessel created from so much British technology and expertise it is a strong and underlying intent of this project that it becomes and showcase for this ability

To step aboard will be a chance to see all of what the UK can offer in one place, in a setting that is impressive but not threatening, to see what one country can do


She will be British owned and run but her crew and purpose will exhibit a wide and inclusive integration of nationality, ability and achievement
